Shuttle — A free shuttle from the airport is offered by the Radisson. You need to contact the hotel to arrange a pick-up. Please call the hotel with your arrival time to arrange.

Opening Reception — Friday April 28th, 6pm to 10pm. Come join us on the 15th Floor at the Radisson.

2017 Canadian Bridge Championships

We are looking forward to a great event in Winnipeg April 29-May 7, 2017. To see an updated Regional schedule – click here. In addition, to the Regional events we also have 2 Championship events, the COPC and CIPC which do not require pre-registration. The local organizers have arranged trips to the local casino (free) and to the Museum of Human Rights ($25) – pre-registration is required. You can register here.

Our host hotel is the Winnipeg Radisson Hotel Downtown and the room rate is $149 (to reserve a room please call 204-956-0410 and mention Canadian Bridge Federation to get our rate).

Helen Shields Rookie Master Game – April 17, 2017

Our next Rookie Master game is April 17th. If your club is not yet registered, please register here. Hand analysis is provided and these games are a great introduction for new players to duplicate bridge. Clubs can hold the game any time of day on the 17th.

Alzheimer Event – Longest Day of Bridge

Mark your calendars for June 21st, the date of the Longest Day of Bridge supporting the Alzheimer Society in Canada. Clubs can register here. We encourage everyone to support this event, you can play at your local club, donate to the Alzheimer Society on the Longest Day of Bridge webpage (link coming soon).

Hall of Fame Announcement

Congratulations to Judith and Nicholas Gartaganis – the 2017 inductees to the CBF Hall of Fame

Judith and Nicholas have too many bridge accomplishments to name them all. They have won the CNTC 4 and 5 times respectively. They have a Gold medal from the Commonwealth Nations Bridge Championships in 2002, plus many more accomplishments.

Nicholas served on the CBF board and also is a past president. Together they have written many articles for Bridge Canada and elsewhere and they are very active in their local unit.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place during the 2017 Bridge Championships.

Canadian Online Team Championships

Congratulations to the Town team on winning the Online under 2500 division. It was a hard fought battle against the Turcotte team.
Congratulations to the winners of the A division of the Online Teams – the Baran team. After a very close first half the Baran team pulled ahead in the second half to defeat the Baxter team.


The ACBL is searching for a new Chief Executive Officer. The CEO is a full-time position, hired by, and directly accountable to, the ACBL Board of Directors.

President’s Message

A New Year

2017 is the 50th Anniversary of the Canadian Bridge Federation. We have come a long way, and the CBF has a strong and vibrant voice in Canadian and World Bridge. To celebrate this milestone Jude Goodwin has developed a special logo that we will be proudly displaying throughout the year.
