Doug DrewIn Memoriam – Doug Drew, Founding Member of the Canadian Bridge Federation

You remember Doug Drew. He was one of the six founding members of the Canadian Bridge Federation. From 1957 until 1997, Doug continuously held elected office serving on the Ontario Unit Board. He was a Hall of Fame member.

Doug and his wife, Margaret, moved to Victoria a few years ago. Doug was increasingly becoming blind, but, with Margaret’s help, was able to continue to play bridge. Recently, Margaret was admitted to hospital and it was found that she had a brain tumour.

On December 2nd, both Doug and Margaret died 14 hours apart in the same room at hospice. Margaret died first and Doug died 14 hours later.

Doug Drew was inducted into the CBF Hall of Fame in 2011
