News & Updates

Canadian Online Team Championships

Registration is now open for the new Canadian Online Team Championships to be held on Bridge Base Online. The championships are open to CBF members and will consist of five divisions; Open, Women, Flight-B, Flight-C, and 299ers. The championships are not sanctioned (i.e. no masterpoint awards), however there are prizes for each member of the winning team in each division.

Registration is open until September 30, 2015.

CBF Memorabilia

We have recently added several interesting articles and press clippings (primarily from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s) to the CBF Memorabilia library in the Members Only Section. These articles mostly highlight the achievements of Canadian greats, such as Eric Murray and Sami Kehela, during that time period.

Canada Mexico Playoff

The Canada-Mexico playoffs took place June 27 & 28 in Toronto at the Delta Toronto East Hotel. Both the Canadian Open and Women teams comfortably won their respective match and will represent WBF Zone 2 at the World Championships in Chennai, India this fall. Congratulations to both teams and we wish them, and the Canadian Seniors team, the best of luck in Chennai.

August Bridge Canada

The current issue of Bridge Canada is now available. In this Special Issue there is expanded coverage on the Canadian Bridge Championships and much, much more!  Please go to the Members Only Section and select the Bridge Canada option.  Bridge Canada is available to members of the CBF only – if you would like to

New CBF Webmaster

We welcome André Leclerc from the Fédération Québécoise des Jeux Récréatifs as the new CBF websmaster. In addition to the ongoing responsibility of maintaining the CBF website and the CBF’s presence on social media, André and his team will be instrumental in introducing and maintaining the French version of our website. We thank Jude Goodwin

Support Our Kids

Recognizing that the future of our game depends on attracting young players, more and more effort is being spent to introduce bridge at schools. One indication that such efforts are yielding significant results is the annual School Bridge Day held as part of the Toronto Easter Regional. In 2014, the event, the brainchild of Flo Belford, attracted 440 students!
