GreatCanadianBiddingContestJohn Rayner, one of Canada’s finest players died unexpectedly on
March 9th, 2025.

Among the highlights of John’s career in bridge were winning six national Championships and representing Canada at World Championships at least twelve times.

He also won the Kate Buckman Award for contributing to other’s enjoyment in bridge as well as winning the Audrey Grant Award for teaching excellence.

John enjoyed a successful career as owner of the Mississauga Oakville Bridge Centre. He had a passion for teaching and built his bridge club into a special place where friendships were formed, relationships began, and the community thrived. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday March 24 from 12 to 3pm at the Mississauga Golf and Country Club. All are welcome.
