Canadian Open Pairs Championship (COPC)
The Canadian Open Pairs Championship (COPC) is the Canadian Bridge Federation’s national pairs championship. It brings together qualified pairs from clubs across the country to compete in a high-level, two-day pairs event.
Players qualify through club COPC qualifying games (September 1 – December 31) or by participating in other designated CBF events as outlined in the Conditions of Contest. Any player registered for a Championship Team event is automatically qualified for the COPC.
The National Final will be held online on RealBridge on April 25–26. Pre-registration is required.
Please note that all qualifier games played on RealBridge require each player to have a RealBridge account.

Participants must be members in good standing of the CBF. In addition, each player must be qualified by meeting one of the options below:
- Club Qualification: Play in a sanctioned COPC Qualifying Game held between September 1 and March 31 and finish in the top 50% of the field.
- Automatic Qualification: Any player registered for a Championship Team event is automatically qualified for the COPC.

Players qualify through club games or designated CBF events, making the COPC a true nationwide championship, open to pairs of all experience levels — now including the new COPC-B (0–2500) flight.
Held online on RealBridge, the COPC allows players from every region of Canada to compete in the same national championship without the need to travel.
What is the COPC?
The COPC is run in two stages:
- Qualifying Stage: Players qualify by playing in club or online COPC qualifying games (or other designated CBF events).

National Finals: A two-day online event.
Day 1: All qualified pairs play a large-field qualifying session; approximately the top 50% advance.
Day 2: Finals to determine Canada’s Open Pairs Champions.
