Jim Donaldson Trophy

Jim Donaldson Trophy

The COPC is our national pairs championship. Participants must be paid up members in good standing of the CBF. In addition, each player must have earned a club qualification OR participated in the National Finals of the CNTC (Flight A, B or C), CWTC or the CSTC. Club qualifying games are held between September 1 and December 31 of each calendar year. Club qualification may be purchased for $25 up to the start of the 2nd session on day one of the National Final.

The Jim Donaldson Trophy is awarded to the winning pair in addition to a $1,500 cash prize. The 2nd place pair receives a $750 cash prize

Jim Donaldson, a British Columbia player who tragically died of cancer in his forties, was a true sportsman, gracious opponent and fiercely ethical. In Allan Graves’ words “he was undoubtedly one of the top ten Canadian talents of all time.”
