The mission of the Canadian Bridge Federation is to promote bridge within Canada and to protect and advance the national interests of Canadian bridge, including the selection and support of Canadian bridge teams and players for international bridge competition.

Canada’s national bridge organization
The Canadian Bridge Federation (CBF) is the national bridge organization responsible for promoting and protecting the rights and interests of Canadian bridge players both domestically and internationally.

The CBF is the voice of bridge to the Canadian government and the Canadian Olympic Committee and continues to seek recognition and support for our sport.

As a recognized partner of the American Contract Bridge League, the CBF works to ensure that the ACBL recognizes and supports the special needs and interests of Canadian bridge players.

Internationally
As a member of the World Bridge Federation, the CBF works to protect Canadian interests in international bridge, including Canada’s eligibility to send representatives to world championships.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the CBF
At the zonal and national levels, the CBF has been fortunate to benefit from talented leaders who have generously given their time and energy to manage the affairs of the Federation.
WHAT WE DO
Programs and activities of the CBF

Canadian Bridge Championships
The CBF organizes the annual Canadian Bridge Championships, which are used to determine Canadian representatives to world championships.
Events include the CNTC, CWTC, CSTC, CMTC and COPC.

CBF Charitable Fund
The CBF administers the Charitable Fund to help ensure that money raised through charity games in Canada is used to support national and regional Canadian charities.
More than $1.25 million has been donated to charities across Canada.

Junior Development
Through the CBF Junior Program, young Canadian players receive training and development opportunities and may be selected to represent Canada in international youth competition.
The Junior Development Fund also supports grassroots initiatives designed to introduce more young players to bridge.

Erin Berry Memorial Fund
The CBF administers the Erin Berry Memorial Trust Fund, which assists eligible Canadian players up to age 19 with expenses incurred while attending bridge events.

Bridge Canada Magazine
The CBF produces Bridge Canada magazine, providing news, features, bridge content and information for Canadian players.

Information & Communication
The Federation maintains the CBF website to provide Canadian players with news, event information, resources and updates.

International Fund
The CBF organizes the annual CBF International Fund Regional to support Canada’s participation in international bridge.

Canada-Wide Club Games
The CBF organizes several Canada-wide club-level events, including the Helen Shields Rookie-Master Pairs, Erin Berry Rookie-Master Pairs and the CBF Sectional Tournament at Clubs.

If you are a Canadian bridge player, there are several ways you can help support the work of the CBF.

Share your suggestions for improving Canadian bridge with the CBF Board and volunteer when opportunities arise.

Play in Canadian charity, Junior Fund and International Fund games at your club and encourage your club to host these games.
