About the Championship
The Canadian National Teams Championship – Flight B (CNTC-B) is a team competition for CBF members with fewer than 3,500 masterpoints as of September 1 of the year in which club play begins.
No club qualification required:
Club-level qualification is not required to participate in the
CNTC-B.
Eligibility and Registration
Participants must be paid-up members in good standing of the Canadian Bridge Federation.
Teams must pre-register for the CNTC-B and pay the non-refundable round-robin entry fee by the deadline indicated in the event documentation.
History of the Championship
The first CNTC-B was held in 2001. From 2001 through 2019, the masterpoint limit for the event was 2,500 masterpoints.
Trophies and Awards
The winning team is awarded the Jan Anderson Trophy, along with a cash prize and gold masterpoints.
Jan Anderson Trophy
Donated by John Armstrong in 2011 to recognize Jan
Anderson’s contributions to Canadian bridge and the CBF.
Jan began volunteering in 1983 and became the CBF’s only
employee in 1989. She served as CBF Coordinator and
Executive Assistant until her retirement in 2014.
Original CNTC-B Trophy
Awarded to the CNTC-B champions from 2001 through 2010,
before the Jan Anderson Trophy was introduced.
