Tributes remembering members of the Canadian bridge community who have passed away

In Memoriam – GOWDY, Bruce Douglas

Passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2025 at 95 years of age.
Bruce’s passion while in school, his working years and into retirement was bridge. He became Life Master #269 in 1949 as he was only 19 years old.
His bridge accomplishments were lifelong and many, including winning a bronze medal at the World Bridge Olympiad in 1972. He also represented Canada in the World Team Olympiads in 1960, in 1976 and in 1978. He was inducted into the CBF Hall of Fame in 2014.

In Memoriam – Doug Drew, Founding Member of the CBF

You remember Doug Drew. He was one of the six founding members of the Canadian Bridge Federation, and the first Canadian President of ACBL in 1984. From 1957 until 1997, Doug continuously held elected office serving on the Ontario Unit Board. He was a Hall of Fame member.
