OF CANADIAN WOMEN'S
TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Tobi
Mitchell trophy is awarded to winners of the CWTC.
The
first National Final in the CWTC was held in Vancouver in 1984.
In 1980 there had been a playoff to select a Ladies team to go
to the World Ladies Team Olympiad. Over the years various levels
of play of been held - ranging from club games to zone finals.
In recent years each Zone decides what levels of play they will
hold to chose Zone representatives to the National Final. Prior
to 1998 the CWTC was held as a stand alone event. In 1998 the
CWTC became part of Canadian Bridge Week.
1980 ( 8 teams) - represented Canada in Women's Teams at the 1980
World Team Olympiad.

1984 (Vancouver) - winner represented Canada in Womens Teams at
the 1984 World Olympiad.

1985 (Halifax) - winner went to 1986 Rosenblum.

Won the Bronze Medal.

1988 (London) - winner played off against Bermuda & Mexico
