Audrey Grant-CBF Tour Coming to Toronto

Last year the Canadian Bridge Federation (CBF) partnered with Audrey Grant and Better Bridge to offer a cross Canada educational bridge tour. This initiative was undertaken to bring new tools to bridge teachers, introduce more Canadian players to the world of bridge, and educate advancing players in modern bridge methods. In the meantime, the tour aims to acknowledge and promote the Canadian Bridge Federation as the national bridge organization serving players across Canada.

Since the fall of 2016, Audrey Grant and team held workshops in Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Halifax, Moncton and Charlottetown. The next tour stop is scheduled for September 12-13 at Hazel’s Bridge Club in Toronto.

1942- 2003

In November 1956 Soviet tanks and the army had killed thousands of students and citizens in order to restore Soviet power in Hungary following an unprecedented revolution in the Communist Bloc. This event forced about 200000 people to flee the country of their birth.

John Bowman  1947-2017

It is never easy to say goodbye to a good friend, particularly one you have known for over 50 years. The Ottawa bridge community has been fortunate to produce a number of strong players over the years, and John was one of the greatest. We met in the late 60’s and, in addition to bridge, backgammon and gin kept us up into the wee hours daily. Those were the days when we couldn’t wait for “The Bridge World” to arrive so we could assert our mastery by solving the often-difficult double-dummy problem. No one was better at it than John. John is survived by wife Pam, daughter Erin and grandchildren Heydon and John.
John would have turned 70 on June 24.
